BRANCH AGM 16TH OCTOBER                                                                                        NEXT NEARLY NEW SALE 8TH NOVEMBER

Are you a new parent, pregnant or new to the area?     

Welcome to parenthood and to the Brighton and Hove branch of the NCT. We have over 500 members.  We offer breastfeeding counsellors, antenatal teachers, postnatal groups, social events, support groups and a register of special circumstances - not just to our members - our events, support and services are available to everyone.

Whether you're having the time of your life or finding the baby is hard work, the nct has something to offer you.  We hope this web site will give you an idea of the varied activities going on in the area.  Why not come along, make new friends and join in the fun?

The NCT wants all parents to have an experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood that enriches their lives and gives them confidence in being a parent.

We EXIST to offer information and support in pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.  We CAMPAIGN to improve maternity care and ensure better services and facilities for new parents.  We AIM  to give every parent the opportunity to make informed choices.  We WANT to made sure that everyone has access to our services and activities.

Wednesdays 10-12 noon at the Sanctuary Cafe, Brunswick St East, Hove     
 
Fridays 10 - 12 noon at LilyMay Baby Shop, North Road, Portslade
 
Cafe Baby is a drop-in for parents-to-be and parents/carers of non-crawling babies! Come along and meet other new mums, talk about your experiences, share ideas and swap stories. At Cafe Baby you can meet representatives of the NCT, get information, and find out more about what the NCT is doing in Brighton and Hove. Please join us and its a drop in so don't worry if you struggle to leave the house before 10:30!

Westows.comA toddler play session

Fridays 10am - 12 noon.  

Entry is just £1.50 for children under 4 (usual price is £3.75) and free for adults and non-walking children.     Please mention to the staff when you arrive and do introduce yourself the the NCT committee member there.  For more details call Brighton and Hove NCT general enquiries on 0870 4214791.   Westows has  a soft playframe, with areas for 3 years and under and for older children.  Also (if not booked) 2 full size indoor football pitches to run around on and usually a bouncy castle too!  Westows, School Road, Hove BN3 5HX, Tel 01273 711944.


Mothers Uncovered
City View Children's Centre, Brighton General Hospital, Elm Grove, 17 September 2008 - 8 October 2008
Running on four Wednesdays from 2.30-4.30.

These workshop sessions for first-time mothers and their babies (of up to a year old), will be a chance to explore the rewards, difficulties and challenges of motherhood.
There will be a video artist and photographer, both of whom are mothers, to document some of the sessions. Each participant will receive a photograph and a copy of the DVD.
Participants will be given a disposable camera to record your personal experiences at home.
All the work created will be exhibited at the centres.
